investigate solutions to bulling at work.

“Bullying at work is a real threat for far too many workers. It
needs to end” the Prime Minister is quoted as saying in the Telegraph 26 May
2012 in an article by Simon Benson.

As time goes by the Committee will ask for submissions from
interested parties. Every person who has been bullied or has had reprisals taken
against them or a loved one should consider sending a submission to the
Committee once the Committee announces the date for
submissions.

Note that no legal action can be taken against you for making a
submission (it is what is called a “privileged” communication or publication).
But a colleague or employer who already bullies you will probably not be stopped
by that fact. Bullying is not against the law. That is why there needs to be a
law against bullying (including reprisals for whistleblowing or to silence
whistleblowers).

If you work or live where you are being bullied you may wish to
consider one of the following:

 
1. Make all or part of your submission confidential. Keep    
   confidential anything you say which is identifiable to
   you.


2. Or, Get a parent to make a
   submission.


3. Or, Seek out a new job or situation and then put in     a
   submission. They can’t “get you back” if you are no longer there. Don’t     stay
   in a place where bulling occurs if you can find an alternative. Once     you
   have left the place they can’t “get you back”. You can name the     bullies in
   your submissions. The more that people name the bullies the     less the bullies
   will be able to get away with it.

Always remember: Only tell the truth. Never make false bullying
allegations.
